How much is an evaluation? therapy?Exact evaluation fees are determined by what areas of communication are assessed. The range of evaluation fees are stated in the intake forms. Basic therapy rates are listed in the intake forms, but the estimated cost for your child's therapy will be provided to you individually after a consultation and firmed up after your evaluation report is completed. For clients who do not submit to insurance and who fully pay on or before day of service, a prompt pay discount of 15% is available.
-
What insurances do you take?AnetSpeech is currently engaged in the credentialing process for Premera Blue Cross (WA), Tricare (West) Preferred Provider, and Medicaid Apple Care (WA). Stay tuned right here for updates of when these plans become active for AnetSpeech's clients!

What will I need for teletherapy? You can receive a free download here with the basics of getting ready for a teletherapy visit with your speech therapist. Teletherapy has only gotten more secure and more available. You will need to: Choose a device with wifi, camera, and microphone. For some select clients our clinic will supply a headset. Download the free zoom app to the device. Find a dedicated place in the home where the child can work without extra household noise in the same room. Remove visual distractions/toys from within eyeshot. There will be plenty of on-screen fun activities to keep their attention. Get your zoom login from me and keep it on a post-it note near the workspace. Log in your child to zoom 5min before your scheduled session. Parents are requested to stay within ear shot for troubleshooting.

What do I need before the evaluation appointment? To serve you adequately, I request the following documentation prior to scheduling your initial visit. Clients who are willing to complete this 'homework' in the requested timeframe are usually also ready to invest the necessary time and effort needed for their child's speech and language journey at AnetSpeech. Before scheduling your initial visit, I request these three things: Obtain a primary care physician speech therapy prescription (Fax to: 253-275-5636) (downloadable here) Complete an online intake form (intake form here) Provide a payment method on file for the $50 appointment deposit (fill out this secure form) Once these items are received, your New Client File will be set up, and I will contact you within 2 business days to schedule your Initial Visit. I will also mail you an individualized Insurance Worksheet for you to verify any potential out of network coverage. Since I am primarily a private pay clinic, this worksheet is optional, but highly encouraged. A New Client File must be completed within 7 business days of your consultation or the first received document from above. If you do not completely set up your New Client File by providing all the three documents from above within this timeframe, per HIPAA privacy laws, all documents uploaded or submitted will be deleted from our system and an Initial Visit will not be scheduled. To renew a new client file setup with AnetSpeech, you will need to submit all documentation on paper by snail mail to our office.

My child has speech therapy at school. Does this matter? That's great! AnetSpeech also provides part-time services at select schools, so I know the eligibility criteria for school speech therapy is different than that at a private clinic. This means sometimes a private clinic can provide treatment where the school is not able to. If your child does have speech therapy through their school, please do upload a copy of any recent documentation to the link provided after your consultation. Recent evaluations (within 6 months) may be considered by AnetSpeech for those not seeking insurance reimbursement; this can allow us to start therapy with a shorter initial visit for a reduced fee. For those seeking insurance coverage or reimbursement, the insurance will typically require a new evaluation at AnetSpeech. Many parents give consent for their child's school to contact Medicaid, which can reimburse the school for speech therapy, occupational therapy, or physical therapy. Whether or not you give this Medicaid consent, it does not affect your child's services at the school. However, if you have Medicaid insurance, and you give the school Medicaid consent, that can affect the services your child may receive at private clinics. If needed, you can contact the school and decline Medicaid consent if you are also seeking Medicaid coverage from an outside clinic.

How does billing at AnetSpeech work?Therapy sessions are billed monthly at the start of the month. Weekly payment plans can be arranged. Evaluation sessions require a deposit paid in advance, to secure the appointment time. The non-refundable deposit can be applied to the evaluation fee.
-
How can I know if my child needs speech therapy?Check out my free download on the different speech and language skills for children between the ages of 1 and 6. If you are not seeing these age-based skills in your child's communication, I would recommend a consultation with a speech therapist. Where there are doubts, the best way is to follow up a consultation with a formal communication evaluation.
-
What methods of payment does AnetSpeech take?I accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, debit cards, and FSA/HSA cards.

What is the No Surprises Act?Beginning January 1, 2022, if you obtain health care via private pay, health care providers like AnetSpeech must provide you with an estimate of the expected charges before you get an item or service. This is called a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) and is part of legislation called the No Surprises Act. Every client will be given this Good Faith Estimate prior to their first appointment. This will include our rates for your expected services, as well as what is expected to be the client's responsibility versus what the insurance is expected to cover. Exact number of therapy sessions per week will depend on the evaluation results. For more information, please visit the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website at www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Do you have a waiting list?AnetSpeech currently does have openings for new clients! Initial visit appointments can usually be accommodated within a couple weeks of your consultation, pending completion of all your pre-evaluation required documents. Once the initial visit is completed, I am still able to add new clients to my weekly therapy schedule. However, there may be a wait of approximately four weeks before a regular therapy schedule can be set up. This wait time is essential for those wanting to utilize insurance in any way, because it allows time for their insurance to respond to the first submitted claim to process. For those who are not involving insurance at all, this wait time can potentially be shorter.
-
What is a Physician Referral?A physician referral, also called a speech therapy 'script' (aka prescription), is a written request from your child's primary care provider for an SLP to provide a speech evaluation, as well as treatment as indicated. While not strictly required for all clients, it is best practice at AnetSpeech, so that, should you decide to utilize insurance reimbursements at any point in the future, the physician referral is in place before we evaluate your child.
-
How many therapy sessions will my child need?Therapy recommendations will depend on the outcome of the evaluation. A typical recommendation could be for weekly therapy. For some children, two or three times a week may be recommended. AnetSpeech knows that families have specific needs; I am willing to work with you on how many sessions a week once the initial recommendation is presented to you. There is no one-size fits all for how long a session, how many sessions per week, or how long to be in speech therapy. Every child's communication needs are as unique as the child is. Questions like this are best answered after the information gained from a formal evaluation is gathered and interpreted, meaning the best way to know is to get started with a consultation followed by an evaluation if indicated.

You don't take my insurance, can my child still come to AnetSpeech?Yes! Many parents prefer to pay out of pocket and not involve insurance. Sometimes this is because a courtesy verification of benefits has shown that their insurance will not cover the expected healthcare codes their child will need. Sometimes this is because the family's insurance plan has such a high deductible it would be more than the expected cost of private pay therapy, even a year of therapy. I support your decision-making process by providing an Insurance Worksheet after your consultation and after you have completely set up your New Client File with AnetSpeech. The worksheet will have potential and individualized healthcare codes to enable you inquire about coverage for your child's unique situation. Keep in mind, every insurance plan is unique to each member. It is always best to verify your own plan's specific coverages. Additionally, once your first appointment is scheduled, AnetSpeech can conduct a courtesy check of your insurance plan's estimated coverage. This is available to all clients who have completely set up their New Client File at AnetSpeech, whether you plan to pay out of pocket (prompt/private pay) or plan seek insurance out-of-network reimbursement.
-
What is a Superbill?A Superbill is a short name for a form from AnetSpeech that documents a clients visit, the healthcare codes utilized, and the cost of service. Clients submit these to their insurance for out-of-network reimbursement after paying the SLP.
