Billing & Insurance

AnetSpeech is a private pay clinic— meaning we do not bill insurance directly. We do provide SuperBills, which are insurance documents you can use to request reimbursement from your insurance for out-of-network costs.

Therapy sessions are billed monthly at the start of the month. Weekly payment plans can be arranged.

Evaluation sessions require a deposit paid in advance in order to secure the appointment time. The non-refundable deposit can be applied to the evaluation fee.

AnetSpeech accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, debit cards, and FSA/HSA cards.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I know if my child needs speech therapy?

Check out our free download on the different speech and language skills for children between the ages of 1 and 6 years. If you are not seeing these age-based skills in your child's communication, we recommend a consultation with a speech therapist.

Following the consultation, if you and the speech therapist continue to have concerns, the next best step is a formal communication evaluation.

What insurances do you take?

AnetSpeech is a private pay clinic for families that want the convenience of therapy on their own terms instead of allowing insurance providers to make those decisions. We can provide you with a Superbill which can be used to request potential out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider if needed.

What do I need before the evaluation appointment?

In order to serve you adequately, we request the following documentation prior to scheduling your initial visit:

  • A prescription for speech therapy from your primary care provider (fax to: 253-275-5636) (downloadable here)

  • A completed online intake form (intake form here)

  • A $50 appointment deposit via a payment method to be kept on file (fill out this secure form)

  • We will also mail you an individualized Insurance Worksheet for you to verify any potential out-of-network coverage. This worksheet is optional but highly encouraged.

If you do not submit all three required items within 7 days of setting up your New Client File, per HIPAA privacy laws, all documents uploaded or submitted will be deleted from our system, and an initial visit will not be scheduled. To renew a new client file setup with AnetSpeech, you will need to submit all documentation on paper via mail.

Once all items are received, we will contact you within 2 business days to schedule your initial visit.

How much is an evaluation? therapy?

Exact evaluation fee will be determined based on your child's unique evaluation needs (e.g. specific areas of need and assessments given). The range for evaluation fees is stated on the intake form.

Therapy rates are also listed on the intake form; however, after the initial consultation, we will provide you with the estimated cost for your child's therapy. Once the evaluation is complete, we can give you an exact cost prior to beginning therapy.

For clients paying fully on or before the day of service, a "prompt pay" discount of 15% is available.

What methods of payment does AnetSpeech take?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, debit cards, and FSA/HSA cards.

What is a Physician Referral?

A physician referral, also called a speech therapy 'script' (prescription), is a written request from your child's primary care provider for a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide a speech evaluation as well as treatment as indicated.

While a physician referral is not strictly required for all clients, it is best to have one in place before we evaluate your child in case you decide to file for out-of-network insurance reimbursement at a later time.

What is a Superbill?

A Superbill is a form that details information regarding your child's visits (therapy and evaluation) including the healthcare codes utilized and the cost of service. A Superbill can be submitted to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Do you have a waiting list?

AnetSpeech is currently accepting new clients!

Initial visit appointments can usually be accommodated within a couple weeks of your consultation, pending completion of all your pre-evaluation required documents.
After the initial visit, we will be able to schedule some therapy sessions for your child; however, it may take up to 4 weeks before we are able to establish consistent, recurring appointment times.

How does billing at AnetSpeech work?

Therapy sessions are billed monthly at the beginning of each month. Weekly payment plans can be arranged. Evaluation sessions require a deposit to be paid in advance in order to secure the appointment time. The non-refundable deposit can be applied to the evaluation fee.

What is the No Surprises Act?

Beginning January 1, 2022, if you obtain health care via private pay, healthcare providers like AnetSpeech must provide you with an estimate of the expected charges before the services are provided. This is called a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) and is part of legislation called the No Surprises Act.

For more information, please visit the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website at www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

My child has speech therapy at school. Does this matter?

Your child may be able to receive speech therapy through AnetSpeech in addition to school therapy! However, if you have Medicaid insurance and have given the school consent to bill Medicaid, you may need to contact the school to decline Medicaid consent if you plan to seek reimbursement for the services from AnetSpeech.

Any records from the school can be uploaded with your New Client File information. School speech evaluations completed within the past 6 months may be considered by AnetSpeech for those not seeking insurance reimbursement; this can allow us to start therapy with a shorter initial visit for a reduced fee. For those seeking insurance coverage or reimbursement, the insurance provider will typically require a new evaluation at AnetSpeech.

How many therapy sessions will my child need?

Therapy sessions may be scheduled anywhere from 1-3 times per week depending on the results of the evaluation, your child's unique needs, and your family's preferences.

There is no one-size fits all for how long a session lasts, how many sessions are scheduled per week, or how long your child will need speech therapy. Every child's communication needs are as unique as the child.

How do I get my child started at AnetSpeech?

There are 3 easy steps to get started:

  1. Schedule a free Consultation. Share your concerns and basic questions.

  2. Complete our intake forms and other documents required prior to an evaluation.

  3. Come to your initial virtual visit with a device that is teletherapy-ready (see other FAQs for more details).

Once the evaluation is complete, you will be invited to a follow-up session. At this time, we will review the results and recommendations as well as work together to determine a care plan, including the therapy schedule and goals.

What will I need for teletherapy?

You can receive a free download here with the basics for getting ready for a teletherapy visit with your speech therapist.

You will need to:

  • Choose a device with wifi, camera, and microphone. For some select clients, our clinic will supply a headset.

  • Download the free zoom app to the device.

  • Find a dedicated place in the home where the child can work without extra household noise.

  • Remove visual distractions/toys. There will be plenty of fun, on-screen activities to keep their attention.

  • Get your zoom login from me and keep it on a post-it note near the workspace.

  • Log in your child to zoom 5 minutes before your scheduled session.

  • Parents are requested to stay within earshot for troubleshooting as needed.
